I have to say that's a ridiculous price for the Pro, you should be able to find it for just over £200

@@ChronikSpartan that does seem like a difficult choice. While the Original Odin 2 has a Bigger Screen & is on Sale. Meanwhile the Odin 2 Mini is a lot Portable but quite Pricey. Although both Models Perform the same it’s the Size & Price Differences that’s hard to pick.

Great take buddy. I think you're right about the racing games being some of the most difficult. I do truly love the RG556, it does so many things right! I guess we're just still waiting for that perfect mid range PS2 emulation. I think going for the PSP version of TOCA Race driver might be the best bet!

Honestly a switch lite that could play most GC and PS2 would be awesome. Seems like the AYN Odin 2 and 2 mini def fill that role but honestly for the price of a Odin 2 you could just get one of the older LCD steam deck models, or save up a bit more and get an oled model. Which might be what I do

It's already hacked, but it's not strong enough to play those systems.

The switch isn't nearly powerful enough to emulate PS3 games, and it might struggle with Wii games too. Its CPU is just really slow and outdated.

Just look at the specs. The hardware is far too weak to emulate ps2.

For me I think the buttons are lacking on the Switch for that emulation, the lack of analogue triggers puts it behind some of these newer retro handhelds.

Pokemon definitely would have mode it easier, but tbh I try to avoid such addictive games for these challenges as it is too easy to just play those over the 30 days. You're right about just because PS1 is available doesn't mean it needs to be played, I find a lot of emulation handhelds push too far with the emulators they provide, when they should just stick to what they're good at. Great idea on refining the game selection too, I think it's essential to be able to truly enjoy gaming on systems like these.

I ended up not loving the RP4 Pro as much as I thought. I'm definitely looking towards the Odin 2 now. What did you think of the format, a bit confusing?

@@ChronikSpartan yeah, I actually think the RP3+ is the better purchase for about £90. Anbernic/Retroid handhelds do feel like toys in comparison to the Odin 2 and it’s just far nicer to have one nice one and use the cheapies when out and about or on day trips etc. The format was fine, just my dry sarcasm having a poke at the click bait title - your videos are better than that.

Odin 2 is easier to hold, has a larger screen, great battery life and thermal handling but the odin 2 mini is better ergonomically for dpad, has better looking screen, and is more portable. Odin 2 mini is the king for me

I ❤ my rp4 pro, but the screen is wayyyy too tiny for me. Plus the analog placement is made to play old school retro games not ps2, GameCube, wii, switch etc. The Odin 2 is much bigger, stronger, may need to upgrade to it ASAP.

@@suhtangwong I dont know if you noticed this, but the PS4/PS5 controllers, also have the analog placed below the Dpad.

At the time for the cost difference it wasn't worth in my opinion. These days the Odin is much cheaper, but then it's still irrelevant because of the competition now.

@@ChronikSpartan yeah I already got mine a while back got the Ayn odin 1 pro. Got it basicly new at a 2nd hand hardware store so no import fees. I still love it but I also have a rog ally. But I do agree for a little bit more $ you could get a nice windows handheld or something with like a snapdragon gen2. Power wise that would def make the difference for switch emulation. But I def do prefer it over the retroid pocket powkiddy anbernic devices altho more pricey those devices just always miss the mark on something be in screen res. Or shoulder buttons . Power etc there is always something a little whrong with them. New I woulnt buy the Ayn odin 1 again I do agree there. Sorry for long post awesome you replied have a good one

I think you're probably right and if you are to just pick one the Odin 2 is a great choice. Have you considered the Steam Deck though? It's a similar price to the Odin 2 now

@@ChronikSpartan I definitely have before in the past but in all honesty I'm not interested in playing PC games or switch games or mobile or android all I care about is being to have a back up playable emulator library of all my consoles up to 6th Gen mostly GameCube with some PS2 exceptions. Plus the steam deck is just huge and the Odin 2 will actually yield me better battery life on average and I love the size and looks of it. Down the road I might get a steam deck but the Odin 2 Pro checked all the boxes for me personally. Been waiting years for this kind of handheld.

Great shout, I've been after that cheesy Ryan McKane story line, but I think I'll just go for it on the PSP.

Odin 2 hands down. It's just more money is all

@@YUNG-fr1kg Ok. You get what you pay for that all I have to say. The RG556 cost $230 after shipping The ODIN 2 base 330.00. Not much of a difference. I’m sure if you’re into these handhelds you spending that money! This is a life style. One of the coolest hobbies to have!

@@DovahkiinChild get the Cube. I’m having a blast with this one. I don’t even use my 556. It’s crazy because I thought I would use it all the time but it’s the cube for me. And I like using the Anbernic rg35xxsp.

Playdate is a great console and totally unique, just really overpriced to get it out of the US. Analog Pocket, I'm personally not a big fan of. I think many much cheaper retro emulation devices do pretty much the same thing at a fraction of the price with a lot less faff.

I agree with you on that although there are still a lot you’re missing out on if you just go the xbox/nintendo/playstation/sega route without ever diverging from it.

It's some part hardware and some part limitations of the emulators, even on a powerful gaming pc they can struggle to run some Xbox 360 games at 60fps. ​@@sonumalik..

I can play almost all PS2 games with Redmi Note 12 Turbo 26gb ram 1Tb rom using xbox360 controller and $4 mobile phone holder. Not pocket friendly but smooth gaming

​@@MajlisIlmuTamanSyurga How can you use xbox 360 controllers on Android? Those are 2.4Ghz, no Bluetooth whatsoever. Even for playing on PC you need a special dongle receiver.
